Digital Photography
Using digital cameras and powerful computer software, students will learn how to plan and produce photographic artwork that demonstrates an understanding of light, composition, color and visual impact. Students will become familiar with advanced art software, such as Adobe Photoshop, while developing valuable skills for any artist in the new digital age. Understanding advanced techniques and vocabulary of digital photography and software will enable the art student to create additional projects for their art portfolio as they become proficient in these areas.

How to TURN-IN digital assignments:
1- ALWAYS SAVE your project file (or folder of photos) in the following format:
[CLASS HOUR]_[PROJECT NAME]_[YOUR LAST NAME, FIRST INITIAL].[FILE EXTENSION]
For example, if John Smith was working on the Interesting Photos project for 2nd hour, it would be:
2_Interesting_Photos_SmithJ.docx (Always keep file extensions as they were.)
2- If you are turning in multiple photos for an assignment, you need to first create a NEW FOLDER on your laptop
and name it using the format in Step 1.
-EXPORT all photos for the assignment into that new folder you created.
-Make sure you select SIZE: LARGE when you export, to reduce the file size somewhat.
-After exporting, RENAME the individual photos in that folder according to the project directions.
3- You can send project files to Mr. Wolfshorndl by logging into your email (preferably your joplinschools.org
account) and ATTACHING them to a new email to him. If you are sending a folder of photos, select
ALL the photos and attach them.
4- IMPORTANT: Make sure the SUBJECT of your email is exactly the same as the name of the project or folder you
are sending (same format as above)!
5- NEVER delete class assignments or photos off of your computer, in case you need to resend or reuse them later.
